Photoshop, primarily.
The tree is in my front yard. I lucked out and had a really cloudy day.
Every element is a layer, so I have individual control over it.
I faded her head out so the clouds show through it.
It's not THAT simple. But I usually see these things in my head before I start doing them, so I know where I'm going.
